TheGeom dot com is a self-hosting WordPress blog contains materials of geomatics. So, TheGeom dot com is ‘just another geomatics blog’. But since ‘everything is created coupled’, TheGeom dot com will also talk about everyday life, such as computing, blogging, advice (tausiah), or news about friends or collegaous (among us). So, it will be ‘geomatika for all’.

 

Geomatika or geomatics or geo-informatics is a rather new term to show / tell about techniques on how to manage geo-referenced data to become information on earth surface (geo means earth) using informatics system. To do this, geomatics has multi disciplines.

 

Usually a geomatics depends on modern techniques on Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Remote Sensing (RS), and also depend mainly on Database (DB). So, geomatics is rather a complex knowledge or discipline. For simplicity, geomatics mostly talks about map. Geomatics, anyway is a kind of informatics system. It relies –heavily- on computer to get things done.

 

Even so, not many people know about geomatics, although they’re using map often. TheGeom dot com available to share knowledge –mainly- on geomatics, but since it is a blog, it also talks about everything else, such as: computing, blogging, communities, education, or even businesses.
